Thank you for your interest in the Road to Deaf Interpreting workshop series.  To complete the application process, there are three things that you must do: 

1) Complete this application form in its entirety:

2) Get two people to complete the required recommendation form:

3) Prepare a videotape of yourself (using video and email us your link or attachment) that demonstrates the instructions shown below:

Required video:

You need to do four things for your video:  (up to 8 minutes total)

  1. Explain your family background (hearing, Deaf-parented, how you communicate with each other)
  2. Education background (K-12 school, college, and  any training related to ASL/interpreting)
  3. How were you exposed to ASL? (where learn?)
  4. Why do you want to join RDI program?

Note:  Your video must be videotaped and saved  as "RDI-application-(your name)".  You can set a Youtube, Vimeo, or any other link and email us with your link to  [email protected]

When you mail in your competed application, please send in the $10.00 application fee payable to "Road to Deaf Interpreting".

Be sure to have the individuals you ask to complete the recommendation video or letter be sent to no later than June 30th, 2017 for New England residents (Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Vermont,  Rhode Island, Connecticut).  If we do not receive your completed application and supporting materials by the June 30th deadline ,we may not be able to consider you for the training series so please be sure to get them in on time. 

We will review all applications with a screening committee and will send you a letter informing you whether or not you have been accepted into the training series by July 8th, 2017 or earlier.  To print the form go to "Application Form" link. 

For non-New England residents, we will hold a limited number of slots with a July 29th, 2017 deadline.
